The City of London is removing one of the stresses of going out for New Year's Eve.
For one night only, motorists will be able to park in municipal lots for free between midnight and 1pm New Year's Day.
This is the third year the city has offered the initiative which encourages those who have consumed alcoholic drinks to leave their vehicle without the risk of being ticketed or towed.
Only municipal lots, marked with a green "P", are covered under the exemption. The initiative does not apply to on-street parking or privately owned lots.
Throughout the downtown, Richmond Row and Old East there are 19 municipal lots of varying sizes with a combined total of 1,500 parking spaces available.
