A man has been sent to hospital after a single-vehicle crash near Lambeth.
London police and firefighters were called 7334 Longwoods Rd., just west of Colonel Talbot Rd. after a black Mustang crashed into a hydro pole around 11:15am Monday.
According to witnesses the vehicle drifted off the road into the grass before hitting a culvert, spinning out of control, and crashing into a hydro pole.
Fire Captain John Sawkins says the male driver and lone occupant had to be cut from the wreckage.
"Fire crews arrived and started the extrication by removing the passenger door, getting him free from his seatbelt, steering wheel and the floor pedals," says Sawkins. "We took him out through the passenger door where EMS treated him and transported him to hospital."
The extent of the man's injuries is not yet known.
Longwoods Rd. was closed between Murray Rd. and Colonel Talbot as police investigated. The road was reopened just after 1pm.
