A 57-year-old St. Thomas man is facing charges after another man was assaulted in a dispute over discarded cigarette butts.
St. Thomas police say the dispute between two neighbours on Balaclava St. began around 1:30pm on Wednesday as a verbal argument but quickly turned physical. A 39-year-old man was assaulted. He suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention.
The investigation by police determined the fight was over cigarette butts that had been tossed on a man's lawn by his neighbour.
An unidentified 57-year-old man is charged with assault.
