Sam Miletic scored the lone goal for the London Knights in their 4-1 loss to the Spirit in Saginaw Saturday night.
The Knights remain in a close race with the Erie Otters for the lead in the OHL Midwest Division standings
The Spirit scored two goals in the first period, both on the power play. The first was from Detroit Red Wings prospect Filip Hronek at 18:11 in the opening period. The second was scored with just one second left in the frame, off the stick of C.J. Garcia.
Saginaw scored two unanswered goals in the second stanza. Hayden Hodgson scored his 30th goal of the season with just 71 ticks gone in the period. Matthew Kreis followed later in the frame to make it 4-0 Saginaw. Miletic's goal avoided the shutout with just 50 seconds left in the third period on a power play goal.
The Knights outshot Saginaw 41-28. Tyler Parsons had the losing effort in the crease for London while Evan Cormier was victorious for Saginaw.
London travels to Flint Wednesday night to take on the Firebirds.
