Two Charged In Cheese Heist

Police have arrested a London man and woman in connection with the theft of $6,200 worth of various cheeses from an Oxford County cheese shop.

OPP say there was a break-in at the Village Cheese Mill on Plank Line, in Salford sometime between February 20 and 21.

Police say, once inside, the culprits removed a large quantity of cheese from a walk-in cooler. A quantity of cash, DVDs, fudge, meat sticks, maple syrup, shortbread, garbage tags, chocolate bars, international books, pre-stamped envelopes, and Marilyn Monroe stamps were also taken from the front of the store.

On Thursday, police announced two people from London had been arrested in relation to the February break-in, as well as for a previous break-in at the same location on December 27, 2016.

A 40-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man are charged with break and enter and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
