A 21-year-old man is charged with arson in connection with an apartment fire in the west end of St. Thomas.
Fire crews were called to 337 Talbot St. around 1:40pm on Monday, where a fire inside one of the units was filling the building with smoke. As a precaution, the building and Animal Aide, a local animal rescue, were evacuated.
No one was hurt in the blaze but police say a 21-year-old man was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
He is now charged with arson, disregard for human life, mischief, and breach of probation.
