Ontario Provincial Police in Norfolk County are investigating a possible case of stranger danger.
Police say the incident occurred on Thursday along Ann St in Delhi. Around 3:30pm, a 16-year-old girl was walking westbound along Ann St when a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction stopped near her.
The male driver of the vehicle called to the girl to come over but the girl refused, police say. The man then asked for the girl's number and that request was also refused. The girl ran from the area, went home and told her parents, who called police.
The driver did not follow the girl and left the area in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a 30 to 40-year-old man with dark skin. He was wearing a black sweater with an orange logo across the chest. The vehicle is described as a white cube van.
In light of the incident, the OPP reminds people to be aware of their surroundings at all times to ensure that their personal safety is not threatened.
Anyone who may know who the suspect is or has any information on the incident should call the OPP Norfolk County detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
