London Man Accused Of Importing Fentanyl

A London man has been arrested and accused of importing a very dangerous drug.

The RCMP says, on May 11, border services agents at an international mail centre in Montreal intercepted a package containing fentanyl patches from the Netherlands, that was destined for a home in London. The RCMP was notified and began an investigation that led to a raid of a home on Woodward Ave. in London.

Colin Brook, 56, is now charged with importing a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

“Preventing the illegal importation of opioids continues to be a priority for the RCMP,” said Inspector Joe Czenze, the officer in charge of the London RCMP detachment, “This is an excellent example of the RCMP working together with our CBSA partners to prevent the importation of a dangerous substance.”

Stewart is to appear in court on July 7.
