A section of Canada's busiest highway will close east of London this weekend for the demolition of a bridge that runs over it.
The Ministry of Transportation says Hwy. 401 at Hwy. 19 near Ingersoll will be closed in both directions from 7pm on Saturday until 11am on Sunday.
The closure will allow crews to demolish the Hwy. 19 overpass. Construction will then begin on a new overpass, which is expected to be completed by the fall.
Traffic will be re-routed at the Hwy. 19 exits, before being allowed back on to the 401.
The MTO says Hwy. 19 will also be closed to traffic between Clarke Rd. and Curry Rd. in Ingersoll during the demolition.
