A retired London trucker is celebrating not one, but two lottery wins within the same month.
Clifford Reynolds, 70, won the $1-million ENCORE prize in the April 5 Lotto 6/49 draw. Three weeks later he won another $10,000 with ENCORE in the April 26 Lotto 6/49 draw.
After realizing his double win, Reynolds said he called his elderly aunt to share the good news.
“She is 93 and she raised me. She’s always the first person I share news with. She was really happy for me," said Reynolds. "Next, I called my brother and asked him, ‘When would you like to go to Toronto?’ I told him I won but it wasn’t until we got closer to the prize centre that I said, ‘I won twice.'"
Reynolds, who purchased both winning tickets from the Couples Convenience & Video 99 on Pond Mills Rd. intends to use the windfall to take care of his family.
“I will make sure that my aunt is well taken care of. She is an active senior. I’m thinking of setting up a college fund for my nephews to help get them started in life," said Reynolds. "Plus, I would like to help my brother, his wife and their two adult children. We are a close family."
Reynolds also plans to travel to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
"I love fishing and I love Canada. I want to see more of it,” said Reynolds.
