Provincial police in Norfolk County are investigating after a family dog was almost poisoned.
OPP were called to a home on Church Rd. on Wednesday. Officers were told that, on Monday, a homeowner was walking the family dog on their property when the dog picked up something from the grass.
The homeowner took the item out of the dog's mouth before it could be eaten. It turned out to be a hollowed out piece of pepperoni stick that had been stuffed with poison.
Luckily, the dog is OK.
