Seven people face drug charges after Norfolk OPP busted a $3.9-million marijuana growing operation.
Norfolk OPP officers executed a search warrant on Concession 14, northeast of Simcoe on Wednesday. Police say they seized about $3.9-million worth of marijuana plants and harvested pot, as well as approximately $18,000 in cash and three vehicles.
Five men and two women were arrested and charged.
"Illegal marihuana production operations pose a real threat to both public and police safety and the OPP remains strongly committed to work within all of our communities across the province to stem the tide of illicit drugs," said Inspector Zvonko Horvat, Norfolk County OPP detachment commander.
The accused, who are from Hamilton, Unionville, Markham, Toronto, and Scarborough will appear in court in Simcoe at a later date.
