London police have a suspect in custody after a man armed with a sledgehammer robbed a Tim Hortons.
Police say, around 3am Tuesday, a man went into the Tim Hortons at 915 Commissioners Rd. E and leaped over the counter. He was carrying a sledgehammer and demanded cash from a female employee.
The man got away with some cash.
A police search of the area did not turn up a suspect, but officers were able to get surveillance video to get a better look at the robber.
Several hours later, a man matching the description was arrested in the area of Dundas St. and Clarence St.
A 25-year-old man is charged with armed robbery, assault with a weapon, and obstructing a peace officer.
The Tim Hortons employee wasn't hurt.
