Armed Abduction Suspect Arrested

A man wanted in connection with an armed abduction in London has been arrested.

Marlon Antone, 29, was picked up Thursday by London police, with the help of the OPP's Repeat Offenders Parole Enforcement squad. Police say he was arrested without incident at a home in the area of Grey St. and Wellington St.

The arrest came two months after a home invasion on Saul St. near Dundas St. that saw a man forced from the home at gunpoint and into a vehicle.

London police briefly gave chase after spotting the vehicle. The pursuit was short lived with officers calling it off out of concern for public safety.

Roughly two-hours later, the vehicle was spotted on Walker Rd., in Oneida Nation of the Thames. Heavily armoured officers in dozens of vehicles flooded the area, which remained on lockdown for roughly seven hours.

While the victim was located, the suspect managed to get away.

At the time, Antone was already wanted on charges of assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement, and mischief under $5,000 in relation to a separate incident. In early May, he was charged with forcible confinement, kidnapping, armed robbery, use of an imitation firearm, and failing to comply with a recognizance in connection with the Saul St. incident.

He was to appear in court Friday.
