Arson Charge Laid Against Homeowner

A woman who took her battle with a contractor public with front lawn signs, is now accused of setting the fire that damaged her home on Tuesday.

London police announced Friday that a charge of arson to own property endangering the property of others has been laid against Allison Stacey, 57, of 503 Boler Rd.

Police and fire crews were called to the home just after 6:30am on Tuesday, after a fire was reported. At the time, police said there were no injuries, as there were no people in the house when they arrived. Damage to the home is estimated at $200,000.

Stacey first gained notoriety in January, when the London Free Press reported on the signs she placed on her front lawn alleging that a contractor had taken her money without completing agreed-upon work.
