The OPP in Elgin County are looking for answers after a series of suspicious fires in recent weeks.
A bush on Roberts Line and a small wooden structure on Dexter Line were set on fire around 8:30pm on August 28. Then on Tuesday night, fire crews were called to a burning vehicle on Dexter Line, east of East St. The fourth blaze was discovered on Wednesday at an empty home on Roberts Line, east of Quaker Rd. Police suspect the fire, which burned the structure to the ground, was set early in the morning.
The Central Elgin Fire Department was able to quickly extinguish all of the fires without incident. Luckily, no one was injured.
Elgin OPP say the investigation into the suspicious fires is continuing. They are asking anyone who spots any suspicious vehicles or people to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
