Man Charged After Senior Mugged

A London man has been charged in relation to the mugging of an elderly man in the city's downtown.

London police say a 72-year-old man was in the area of Dundas St. and Colborne St. around 11:20am on August 29 when he was shoved to the ground and robbed by another man.

The 72-year-old suffered minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

On Tuesday, detectives with the Street Crimes Unit arrested a suspect. A 28-year-old London man is charged with robbery.

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
