The London Knights made short work of the Firebirds in an 8-2 victory over Flint on Friday.
Robert Thomas kicked things off for the Knights with a fast goal 12 seconds into the game. Alex Formenton and Cliff Pu both scored as well to make it 3-0 heading into the second.
The Firebirds made it on the board with a goal early in the second frame, but Thomas scored his second of the night, followed by Billy Moskal who made it 5-1 for London. Thomas completed a hat-trick with a goal 15:53 into the second, but Flint made it on the board again to make 6-2 before the third.
London was able to keep the Firebirds at bay in the final frame, and Tim Fallowfield scored to give London a six goal advantage. Thomas capped off the night with his fourth goal and the final point of the game, with just over eight minutes left.
London goaltender Joseph Raaymakers made 22 saves out of 24 shots on net.
The Knights will try for their fourth straight win when they take on the Bulldogs on Saturday in Hamilton. The puck drops at 4pm.
