Pond Drained In Murder Investigation

A pond in a southeast London subdivision was drained Monday as part of the Josie Glenn homicide investigation, but police remain tight-lipped about what they hope to find.

City crews began the slow process of draining the water from the stormwater collection pond in Meadowgate Park, just steps away from Cudmore Cres. on Monday morning. The task was expected to take several hours to complete.

"We continue to search for evidence in relation to this investigation and our major crime unit members, as well as public order unit and the marine unit, are on scene continuing to search for evidence," said London police Constable Sandasha Bough.

The remains of Josephine (Josie) Glenn were found Friday at a home at 252 South Leakside Circle, which is in the same subdivision as the pond being drained. Police had been searching for the 26-year-old woman since she was reported missing on October 23. They have said they received information that led them to the Summerside subdivision address.

Investigators and a forensic van remained at the South Leakside Circle home on Monday but police were unable to comment on what they are looking for.

"We have forensic identification still looking for additional evidence and while I can't speak to what evidence, due to a publication ban, I can tell you that we are still currently on scene," said Bough.

Oluwatobi Boyede, 25, of London, has been charged with second degree murder and offering an indignity to a human body. Boyede has been in police custody since his arrest on Friday. He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Police have not commented on whether Glenn and Boyede knew each other.

"That is not something that we can speak to due to the fact that it would be evidence in this particular investigation," said Bough.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about this case to give them a call at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

This is London's fourth homicide of 2017.
