The London Knights dropped a 6-5 decision to the Saginaw Spirit in overtime on Friday.
The Spirit drew first blood with goals late in the first period to take a 2-0 lead heading into the second.
Robert Thomas cut their lead in half with a goal 7:40 into the second frame, but Saginaw added another to keep a two point advantage. London continued to trade goals with the Spirit with Evan Bouchard scoring for London after 12:23, and Saginaw scoring another late in the frame to make it 4-2.
The Knights came back hard in the third with Thomas scoring his second of the night, and Alec Regula adding another to tie the game after five minutes. Saginaw retook the lead 11:05 into the third, but Cliff Pu scored for London with just over two minutes left to play, to tie things up again and force OT.
Unfortunately for London, the Spirit scored 17 seconds into extra time to earn the win.
Knights' goalie Joseph Raaymakers made 17 saves during the game.
The Knights are in Owen Sound on Saturday to take on the Attack at 7:30pm.
