Lightning Tame River Lions 108-96

Seven London Lightning players scored double-digit points in their 108-96 win over the River Lions in St. Catharines.

The Lightning improve their overall record to 2-4 on the season, fourth in the NBLC Central Division.

Garrett Williamson led the Lightning with 19 points and also got five rebounds and five assists. Martin Dixon-Green scored 17 points off the bench and also got five rebounds. Joel Friesen-Latty added 16 points for London.

Defensively, Kirk Williams Jr. led London with eight rebounds while sinking 13 points off the bench.

Niagara did control the tempo of the game in the first half, taking a 20-13 lead after the first quarter and holding on to a 45-35 lead at halftime. London came back in the third quarter and dominated 41-25, and they were able to maintain the overall lead the rest of the contest.

Samuel Muldrow led the River Lions with 20 points. Omar Strong contributed 15 points with three Niagara players added 12 apiece. Marvell Waithe led Niagara defensively with nine rebounds.

The Lightning return Saturday night to Budweiser Gardens and host the rival Windsor Express.
