The London area could be in for some messy weather on Thursday night.
A special weather statement for London-Middlesex, Elgin County, and Oxford County issued by Environment Canada is calling for snow on Thursday afternoon and snow mixed with freezing drizzle or freezing rain on Thursday night.
"Latest indications suggest snowfall amounts of 2 centimetres or less will accumulate," the statement says. "The most significant impact may be due to the patchy freezing drizzle which is likely to develop after midnight and continue through Friday. Some rain or drizzle is possible near the Lake Erie shore in areas where the temperature manages to nudge just above the zero degree mark."
Drivers should expect conditions to deteriorate.
