The arrest of a Toronto woman on human trafficking charges has led police to look toward London for more potential victims.
Cassandra Thomas, also known as Cassandra Walczak, 27, surrendered to Toronto police on Monday and faces charges of trafficking in persons, withholding travel documents, obtaining sexual services for consideration, gaining material benefit from sexual services, procuring, and advertising another person's sexual services.
Toronto police say she was known to frequent the Toronto and London areas. They are concerned there may be more victims.
"Police would like to encourage all affected individuals to come forward and report Human Trafficking occurrences to police. We want to make sure that everyone has access to support services and an exit strategy, regardless of their decision to proceed criminally," Toronto police said in a statement issued Wednesday.
