London police say a 29-year-old inmate was found without vital signs in his cell just after noon on Boxing Day. Emergency crews responded to the scene and the man was pronounced dead.
The London Police Service Major Crime Section and the Coroner are investigating. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Wednesday.
This marks the fifth death of an inmate at the EMDC in 2017.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
Both couples won in the April 11 draw.
