It happened around 11pm Friday at a variety store in the downtown area, according to a release from St. Thomas Police Staff Sergeant Russ Yates.
Few details are being released, but police say they were called to the location on a report of a domestic disturbance.
A 52-year-old St. Thomas man was arrested. His name has not been released.
The suspect is charged with domestic assault and breach of probation.
