Knights Edged 5-4 By Attack

The London Knights dropped a close 5-4 decision to the Owen Sound Attack in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series on Thursday.

Richard Whittaker kicked off scoring for the Knights with a goal 2:24 into the first period, but the Attack scored two of their own to take the lead shortly before the eight-minute mark.

Owen Sound retook the advantage by scoring late in the first frame and again 2:55 into the second for a 4-2 lead. However, London fought back hard with Jacob Golden and Formenton both scoring to tie the game at 4-4 heading into the third.

The Attack scored the game-winner 2:54 into the third, and kept the Knights at bay for the rest of the period to end the game with the win.

Knights goaltender Joseph Raaymakers made 38 saves out of 43 shots on net.

The two teams face off in Game 2 on Saturday. The puck drops at 7:30pm in Owen Sound.
