St. Thomas Man Beats Canadian Record At Para Swimming World Series

A St. Thomas man is taking home a bronze medal after finishing a race in Canadian record time at the World Para Swimming World Series.

Gord Michie from St. Thomas placed third in his 100m butterfly race on Saturday. Michie was clocked at 1:01.43.

‘’I went into this meet with a lot of confidence,’’ says Michie. ‘’I worked really hard in my swims for sure. The 100 fly was my favorite of the weekend because I went a best time and got the Canadian record.’’

Lawren Sapp from the U.S. was the winner of the race. Junho Ko from South Korea came in second.
