An investigation by the Ontario Ministry of Labour is underway after a scrapyard worker was hit by a customer's vehicle in east London.
Emergency crews were called to Core Industries on Gore Rd. around 2pm on Wednesday. The female employee was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"We have two inspectors assigned," said Ministry Spokesperson Janet Deline. "I don't have any other details at the moment, but our investigation is ongoing."
According to its website, Core Industries was established in the fall of 1980 and is a family-run business.
This is the second workplace incident involving a Londoner this week. On Monday, a 47-year-old London man was killed when a large piece of granite he was unloading from a truck fell on top of him at KW Countertop in Kitchener.
