Woodstock police have arrested a suspect after a man was spotted with a weapon near a local high school.
The man was seen carrying an undisclosed type of weapon in the parking lot of Huron Park Secondary School just before noon on Wednesday. The Cromwell St. school was placed on lockdown for 45 minutes while police investigated.
A male suspect was arrested immediately and the weapon in question was seized.
Police said there is no longer a threat to public safety but are continuing their investigation.
