Alleged PSW Poser Charged Again

A London woman accused of pretending to be a personal support worker in order to rip-off seniors is facing more charges.

London police say two fraud investigations that began in May have led to charges against Amanda Albert, 33. It's alleged a woman gained access to at least two apartments in a seniors-only residence and used the seniors' credit cards to take money from their accounts.

Albert is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Unlawfully in a dwelling house
  • Fraud over $5,000
  • Possess proceeds of property or thing exceeding $5,000 obtained by crime
  • Using a credit card without authorization
Police are also looking for an alleged accomplice. Tharron Adrian Paris, 31, of London is wanted on charges of fraud, possession of proceeds obtained by crime, and using a credit card without authorization.

"The London Police Service wants to take this opportunity to remind all citizens, especially seniors, that any person entering your home to provide a service or any kind of assistance should be asked to provide identification to confirm that they are entering your home for a legitimate purpose," police said in a statement issued Friday.

Police say they believe there may be more seniors who may have been targeted in a similar way but have not reported it to police.

Albert was charged in May of 2018 and September of 2016 in connection with similar incidents.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident or the whereabouts of Tharron Adrian Paris is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com
