A motorcyclist has died from injuries sustained during a race in Elgin County on Friday night.
The rider has been identified as Bradley Schaafsma of St. Thomas. According to a release from OPP, he lost control of the motorcycle shortly after crossing the finish line.
Police responded to the call at roughly 9:30pm. Members of the Elgin County OPP, Elgin St. Thomas EMS and Central Elgin Fire Service were dispatched to the single motorcycle crash at the St, Thomas Raceway Park on Sparta Line, in Central Elgin.
Police said emergency services located the 32-year-old man with life-threatening injuries. They added he was transported to hospital in an ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
