Tributes and condolences are pouring in for a motorcycle racer who was killed Friday night in a crash at St. Thomas Raceway Park.
Bradley Schaafsma died in a single-vehicle crash at the facility on Sparta Line around 9:30pm. Elgin OPP determined that Schaafsma lost control of his motorcycle moments after crossing the finish line. He was taken to hospital were he died from his injuries.
Schaafsma's fiancée described the 32-year-old as " the kindest soul out there" and said he died doing what he loved.
"Brad was the most amazing person to me, my family, and to everyone who knew him. He would have been an amazing husband," Schaafsma's fiancée Erynn wrote on social media.
The pair were to be married in 2020.
"Every minute of every day I will love him and think of him knowing he was a wonderful person to everyone," she continued. "Bradley will always be in my heart and our hearts forever."
Nearly 150 others sent messages of condolences to the grieving woman.
"So devastating to loss him so young and full of life. I know how much you two were enjoying building your beautiful future together," wrote one person.
Another stated "as a fellow rider to hear of this is heartbreaking and to hear of it happening to someone we know hurts even more."
Funeral details have not been released.
