Residents of the London and Woodstock areas were told to take cover Thursday, as the threat of a tornado covered the region.
As a line of thunderstorms moved through southwestern Ontario, Environment Canada issued a tornado warning for London, Middlesex County, Oxford County, and Brant County. The warning came after the weather agency issued severe thunderstorm warnings for the same areas.

The weather agency said as of 7:50pm on Thursday, meteorologists were tracking a storm that was moving toward the Mount Elgin area that was capable of producing a tornado. The warning was lifted at around 8:20pm. A tornado warning was also issued for London-Middlesex but it was lifted within minutes of being issued.
Prior to the tornado warning, residents to the north and east of London were hit with heavy rain and golf ball sized hail.
