London police are asking for the public's help as they continue to investigate a shooting in the parking lot of an east end strip club.
Police were called to the parking lot of Golddiggers on Dundas St. E near Clarke Rd. just after 3am Saturday. Officers responded to reports of gunfire. They later learned that a man was in hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say the victim underwent surgery for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
"Investigators have thus far determined that an altercation between the victim and the occupants of a white BMW sedan took place in the parking lot after the business was closed, during which time the victim sustained the injuries from the gunshot," police said in a statement issued Sunday. "Two males ran northwest from the scene following the shooting and so far have not been apprehended. Both are described as black in their mid to late 20’s. The victim was driven to hospital by a third party. The BMW has been recovered."
Police say the investigation is ongoing and they are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or was in the area at the time to contact them. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
