Seven people face charges after a student party near Fanshawe College got out of control and led to the seizure of three firearms.
London police say they were called to a party on Thurman Circle around 2am Sunday. Two party-goers had been assaulted by uninvited guests. Some personal items had also been stolen.
According to police, suspects took off in different directions, with some of them running to a stranger's home on Fleming Dr. Three were arrested shortly after. Two were arrested in a nearby park, while others were arrested by tactical officers as they tried to get into a cab. Police say they seized two firearms from one suspect and one from another.
“It’s important that when you have gatherings at your home, that you only allow entry to the individuals who were invited,” said Detective Sergeant Blair Harvey. “Students should be extremely careful when hosting a party. There are some people who may attend with the sole intention to violently rob the occupants.”
