Two charged in medical pot theft

Two men face charges after police say several cannabis plants were stolen from a licenced medical marijuana growing operation in St. Thomas.

According to police, the thieves returned with a rented truck later that night, but ran off into a nearby field when they were scared off by employees.

Police were called again and arrested two men around 4 a.m. on Wednesday. The stolen plants were recovered and the rented truck seized.

A 23-year-old Strathroy man is charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of trespassing by night. A 24-year-old London man is charged with one count of theft under $5,000. Police did not release the names of the suspects.
