Two men face charges after police say several cannabis plants were stolen from a licenced medical marijuana growing operation in St. Thomas.
St. Thomas police say the break-in happened early Tuesday morning and that about 30 plants were taken. When police arrived, there was no sign of the thieves. According to police, the thieves returned with a rented truck later that night, but ran off into a nearby field when they were scared off by employees.
Police were called again and arrested two men around 4 a.m. on Wednesday. The stolen plants were recovered and the rented truck seized.
A 23-year-old Strathroy man is charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of trespassing by night. A 24-year-old London man is charged with one count of theft under $5,000. Police did not release the names of the suspects.
