Doughnuts, cash snatched in coffee shop robbery

A London man is facing charges after police busted a suspect trying to take off with a tray full of doughnuts during a coffee shop robbery in the south-end.

London police said a man walked into a Wellington Road South coffee shop and demanded cash around 3:30 a.m. Friday. Officers responding to the reported robbery arrived on scene just in time to catch a man trying to leave the shop with a large tray of doughnuts and pastries.

An undisclosed amount of cash was also recovered by police.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

A 57-year-old London man is charged with one count of robbery. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
