Husband and wife killed in plane crash at Brantford Airport

A Brampton couple is dead following a single-engine plane crash near Brantford early Tuesday morning.

Brant County OPP were called to the Brantford Municipal Airport at 110 Aviation Ave. around 8 a.m. after the wreckage of a Piper-Arrow plane was discovered on the property. It is believed the crash happened sometime overnight.

The two occupants of the plane, Mildred Chamberlain, 81, and Ronald Chamberlain 76, of Brampton, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating the cause of the crash.
