Electrical issue closes Woodstock school

What is being described as an "electrical issue" has led to a Woodstock school being closed for the day and several roads being blocked off.

St. Michael's Catholic Elementary School at 1085 Devonshire Ave. tweeted Monday morning that the school is closed due to a power outage. Woodstock police also took to social media to advise drivers that Devonshire Avenue is closed between Valleyview Street to Cree Avenue because of the same electrical issue.

Students from St. Michael's who were already at the school or on board a bus headed to the school have been taken to nearby Algonquin Public School. Parents are being contacted to pick up their children at that location.

Hydro One crews are working to correct the electrical issue. There is no indication what caused the power outage.
