Woman killed in crash southwest of London

One person is dead and another seriously hurt after a single-vehicle crash southwest of London.

According to Middlesex OPP, the vehicle was traveling on Southminster Bourne between Woodhull Road and Westdel Bourne in Middlesex Centre when it veered off the roadway and hit a bridge barrier around 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday.

One person in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The deceased person has been identified by police as 27-year-old Channon George of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation.

Southminster Bourne between Westdel Bourne and Woodhull Road was closed for nearly six hours as police investigated the cause of the collision.

The Middlesex crash comes just one day after a Central Huron couple was killed in a single-vehicle rollover west of Clinton.
