Canadian musician and actor Alan Doyle has been tapped to host and perform at the 2019 Juno Songwriters' Circle in London.
The annual showcase is considered the jewel of Juno week and will take place at Centennial Hall on March 17, just hours ahead of the iconic awards show.
Doyle, a 12-time Juno Award nominee, is best known as the frontman for Canadian folk rock band Great Big Sea. He recently released his third solo album "A Week at the Warehouse" which as produced by last year's Juno Songwriters’ Circle co-host Bob Rock.
“As an avid storyteller, it’s a true honour to host one of Juno Week’s most authentic moments,” said Doyle in a statement. "Juno Songwriters’ Circle connects exemplary artists with rising stars, in an intimate and captivating setting that gives the audience an experience they’ll never forget. I’m delighted to be able to do what I love, while helping benefit Canadian youth through MusiCounts [Canada’s music education charity].”
The Songwriters' Circle allows fans a chance to witness rare collaborations between artists and get the inside scoop and inspiration behind their favourite songs.
Additional performers for the event will be announced in the coming weeks. Artists who previously took part in the Songwriters' Circle include Chantal Kreviazuk, Daniel Caesar, Iskwé, Jim Cuddy, Ruth B., and Scott Helman.

Juno Week 2019 kicks off in London on March 11 and end on March 17 with the Juno Awards ceremony at Budweiser Gardens.
