Police raid three more London pot shops

Four people are facing charges after police raided three illegal marijuana dispensaries in London.

Officers with the OPP and London police searched what they call "illegal cannabis storefronts" on Dundas Street, Hamilton Road, and Wortley Road on Wednesday.

Two people, aged 22 and 40, were arrested at the Dundas Street location, while two others, aged 63 and 64, were taken into custody at the Wortley Road storefront.

All have been charged under the Federal Cannabis Act with possession for the purpose of selling and will appear in London court in relation to the offence at a later date.

Property was seized from the Hamilton Road outlet, but the suspects at that location took off from the scene, police said.

According to police, they are working to dismantle organized crime groups, eliminate the illegal cannabis supply, remove illegal cannabis enterprises such as storefronts and online, and target the proceeds of crime and assets.

Since November 29, police have raided six local pot shops, five in London and one in the Chippewa of the Thames First Nation. In total, 28 people and two landlords have been charged.
