Around 100 auto-part factory workers to be laid off in London

Citing shifting consumer demands, an auto-parts maker is laying off around 100 employees at its London manufacturing facility.

In a statement emailed to BlackburnNews.com, Brose Canada confirmed that the employees will lose their jobs by the end of 2019.

“Brose is adjusting production capacity at its London, Ontario manufacturing facility to meet shifting automotive customer demands," the company said in its statement. "Our focus remains on supporting those affected by providing transition options, including potential relocation to other Brose facilities.”

Brose Canada opened its London auto-parts plant in 2005, which severs Chrysler, Mercedes-Benz, Subaru, Volkswagen and Ford. The London facility manufactures seat adjusters, seat components and doors systems.
