Update: Environment Canada lifted the blowing snow advisory on Wednesday night.
-
The drive home Wednesday could be a slow one as strong winds combined with flurries reduce visibility.
Environment Canada has issued a blowing snow advisory for London-Middlesex, Sarnia-Lambton, and Oxford County. According to the national weather agency, lake effect snow east of Lake Huron and westerly winds up to 70 kilometres per hour will lead to widespread blowing snow through the afternoon and evening.
Motorists are advised to adjust their driving as blowing snow can create hazardous driving due to reduced visibility.
Between five to 10 centimetres of snow is expected to fall on the area before flurries taper off Wednesday night.
More snow is expected to fall Thursday morning before changing to rain in the afternoon as temperatures climb above freezing to a high of 2 C.
