Two London men charged with child pornography offences

Child pornography charges have been laid against two London men after a tip from a national agency led local police to search a home near the downtown.

London police were given information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre on Friday about two individuals in the city sharing child pornography online. Officers raided a home on Clarence Street and arrested another man in the area of Dundas and Dorinda streets later the same day.

Cellphones and storage devices were seized by police.

It is alleged images of child pornography were exchanged through a messaging service on a social media platform.

A 62-year-old man and a 46-year-old man, both from London, are charged with one count each of possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

An additional charge of distributing child pornography has been laid against the 62-year-old.

“This particular investigation highlights how individuals who are drawn to child pornography form communities with one another, not only internationally but locally as well,” said Det. Constable Sam Page of the London police Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
