A little more than a week after an armed robbery that saw one person shot in east London, police have arrested a third suspect.
Michael Lenard Gordon, 38, of London was arrested around 9 a.m. Tuesday in connection with the February 25 robbery on Florence Street. He is charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
Police began investigating the incident after shots rang out around 1:15 a.m. last Monday. Officers found one man with multiple gunshot wounds at the scene. Further investigation determined three men, armed with a gun, knives, and a baseball bat, robbed the occupants of a home on Florence Street just after 1 a.m. As the men made their getaway, shots were fired, hitting one of the suspects. He was treated and released from hospital.
Two other men were charged last week in connection with the early morning incident.
Johnny Grebenchan, 28, of London is charged with robbery with a firearm and breach of recognizance in connection with the incident.
Craig Bradley Chapman, 39, of London is charged with nine offences including assaulting a peace officer, assault with intent to resist arrest, aggravated assault, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a loaded restricted firearm without a licence, discharging a firearm with intent, and possession of a Schedule I substance.
The search continues for a third robbery suspect and the investigation is on-going, police said.
