Lightning top Hurricanes 100-99

It came down to the wire, but the London Lightning were able to edge the Halifax Hurricanes 100-99 on Thursday.

The Lightning held a 27-19 advantage at the end of the first quarter and extended their lead to 57-38 as the game entered halftime. London continued to keep Halifax at bay in the third with a 76-68 lead at the end of the frame, but the Hurricanes battled back in the final quarter to come within one point of the Lightning to make it 95-94 in the last 55 seconds of the game. However, the Hurricanes couldn't surpass London and fell with a single point deficit.

Xavier Moon led the Lightning with 21 points, four assists and four rebounds. Maurice Bolden added 18 points of his own, four assists and four rebounds, while Kirk Williams Jr. put up another 16 points.

The Lightning are in Windsor on Wednesday to take on the Express at 7 p.m.
