Stranger asks teen 'inappropriate' questions

Provincial police in Norfolk are asking for the public's help identifying a man accused of pulling his vehicle alongside a 15-year-old boy and asking him "inappropriate" questions.

The teen was walking on the sidewalk on Sydenham Street in Simcoe around 8:46 p.m. on Sunday when a 2008 dark grey Hyundai Tucson slowed beside him and the male driver began questioning him. According to police, the shocked teen walked away from the vehicle, which was last seen turning north onto Norfolk Street South.

Police are now looking for a man described as Caucasian, 6'0" tall, between 200-220 lbs, with a medium build, black medium-length hair, styled straight down in the front stopping just above the eyebrows with a black patchy beard. He was wearing a dark hat, dark pants, and a dark grey jacket.

The vehicle is said to have had black plastic paint from the door handle down the vehicle.

In light of this incident, police are reminding the public to always be aware of their personal safety at all times and to be extremely vigilant and aware of their surroundings.

Anyone with information that could help identify the man involved in this incident is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
