Sunshine, double-digit temps have arrived

After a wet and dreary Easter long weekend, Londoners are in for a warm and mainly sunny week.

Environment Canada is calling for double-digit temperatures for the next seven days. While showers and the risk for thunderstorms appear in the forecast Tuesday and Friday, the other five days -- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday -- are expected to be packed with sunshine.

The national weather agency expects the daytime high to reach 18 C on Monday and Tuesday before dipping slightly to 14 C on Wednesday. The temperature will then climb to 19 C on Thursday, five degrees above the average daytime high for this time of year. That will be followed by 16 C on Friday and 13 C on Saturday and Sunday.

The stretch of double-digit days would be the warmest London has recorded so far this year, but is not warm enough to smash any existing temperature records.
