Man wanted for attack on woman in the sex trade

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 37-year-old man accused of tying up, assaulting, and robbing a woman in the sex trade in London last month.

The woman was attacked inside a home on Wellington Street near Simcoe Street early on April 15. She was tied up, tasered, assaulted, and robbed by a man she had met through an online advertisement. Following the assault the man took off in the woman's vehicle, police said.

The woman suffered minor injuries.

The incident prompted police to issue a warning to those who work in the sex trade to be extra careful.

On Wednesday, a warrant for Omar Oneil Williams, 37, was issued. Williams is charged with robbery, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, assault, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

It is believed Williams might be in the Greater Toronto Area.

Anyone sees Williams or knows where he may be is advised not to approach him, instead call 911 immediately.
